Naturopathy: Natural Remedies
What is Naturopathy?
Naturopathy is based on the healing power of nature, prevention, and non-invasive, natural remedies for overall wellness. Naturopathy specializes in wellness and teaching clients how applying natural lifestyle approaches can act to facilitate the body’s own natural healing and health building potential. Naturopaths have training in natural therapeutics: naturopathy philosophy, natural supplementation, natural remedies, and lifestyle coaching. The traditional naturopath does not undertake to diagnose or treat diseases, or cure, but rather recognizes that most sub-health conditions are cumulative lifestyle effects, and that the underlying cause of what we call “disease” is unhealthy habits, and environmental factors which cause biological imbalances leading to a weakening of the bodies’ natural defenses and subsequent breakdown in health.
A visit to a Traditional Naturopath may be different from any other visit you have had. We not only want to know about what initially brought you into our office, but we want to know as much as we can about you. Many challenges today are not caused by a single, specific event, but often are a compilation of many factors that have shaped your wellness over the years, such as stress, environment, exercise, and sleep. We take all of this into consideration in working with you to help you achieve optimal health through natural remedies.
